India does not want its military to be seen alongside the Chinese and Pakistani troops when it is facing tension with China in eastern Ladakh and Pakistan at Line of Control (LoC).

With India facing standoff with China on the Line of Actual Control, New Delhi has decided to pull out of the forthcoming multinational war game, Kavkaz-2020, hosted by Russia. Chinese and Pakistani troops are expected to participate in this military exercise.

India does not want its military to be seen alongside the Chinese and Pakistani troops when it is facing tension with China in eastern Ladakh and Pakistan at Line of Control (LoC).

The decision to this regard was taken at a high-level meeting attended by External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, The Tribune reports.

At this meeting, discussions were held on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation in India and abroad.

Rajnath Singh is likely to visit Russia between September 4 to 6 for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ meeting. India is expected to raise the issue of China’s expansionism at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The situation at the LAC has been tense since May this year however, it worsened after the clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley on June 15.
