Pakistan criticized India on the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya

India on Thursday slammed Pakistan for raising an issue on the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, stating that it should desist from interfering in the country’s internal affairs.

On Wednesday, Pakistan in a press release issued by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The flawed judgment of the Indian Supreme Court paving the way for construction of the temple not reflected the predominance of faith over justice but also the growing majoritarianism in today’s India.”

“We have seen the press statement by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on a matter internal to India. It should desist from interfering in India’s affairs and refrain from communal incitement,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said in response to a media query.

He further said Pakistan should “desist from interfering in India’s affairs and refrain from communal incitement.”

Pakistan in a press note had said, “A temple built on the site of a historic mosque will remain a blot on the face of the so-called Indian democracy for the times to come.”

India termed such statements "regrettable", however, it also maintained that “this is not a surprising stance from a nation that practices cross border terrorism and denies its own minorities their religious rights.”
