Very few countries offer the kind of opportunities that India does today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the virtual meet

“India awaits you all”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, as he exhorted global companies to come and invest in the country, according to a report in RT.

“India remains one of the most open economies in the world. We are laying a red carpet for all global companies to come and establish their presence in India. Very few countries will offer the kind of opportunities India does today,” PM Modi said while delivering the inaugural address at the virtual India Global Week 2020.

Over 5,000 participants from over 30 countries are expected to attend the three-day meet that will focus on India’s trade and foreign investment prospects, as well as the global economic revival, the report said.

The Prime Minister said India will lead the post-Covid-19 global economic revival and referred to his government’s Covid-19 response and the economic measures taken as “smart” and “well-targeted”, according to the news report.

“No wonder that in India, we are already seeing green shoots when it comes to economic recovery,” RT quoted PM Modi as saying.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the massive efforts by Indian pharmaceutical companies to aid in the development and production of a coronavirus vaccine, the RT report said.
