The highway was cleared of debris, paving the way for the resumption of traffic, officials said

Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway resumed on November 10 after remaining suspended for over 13 hours following a massive landslide in Ramban district, officials said. The highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country, was cleared of debris around 3 am, paving the way for the resumption of traffic, the officials said. Div Com reviews road clearance, winter preparedness in Kashmir Valley Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan held an extensive meeting with the heads of various departments and Deputy Commissioners to review the restoration of power supply, clearance of snow and the overall winter preparedness in the Valley. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; Director Education, Kashmir; Director ULB; Additional Commissioner, Kashmir; Commissioner SMC; Chief Engineer PHE; Chief Engineer R and B; officials from PDD, SDRF, Forest, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mechanical Engineering Department and other concerned officials of various departments.
