The snow furry that wrought havoc across Kashmir Valley raised many questions about the capability of incumbent administration that is being managed by first Lieutenant Governor Griesh Chandra Murmu.

A feet of snowfall buried whole administration. This has not happened once, but in past as well, people have witnessed the helplessness of the previous governments during any snowfall, rains or floods. “From 1947 to 2019, the sucessive governments and the Governors dictated by New Delhi failed to provide 24x7 electricity. People are still dying for getting clean drinking water. The politicians here in Kashmir Valley on the cost of common masses only filled their coffers,” said a lecturer Faheem Ahmed.

Kashmir News Trust talked to various people, some working in government departments others in private sector who all in one voice admitted that right from Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah to Mehbooba Mufti, no leader proved to be the messiah of the people and all politicians by hook or crook amassed wealth and gave weightage to personal interests. “In 2019, you are being forced to live without any electricity. It’s time to expose those politicians who brought us on the verge of destruction. Valley, despite being rich in water resources is depended on the alms given by NHPC that virtually controls all our power projects by the follies of our so-called politicians,” said Nisar Ahmed, working in a government department.
