"Your dreams are synonymous with my resolve,” says PM Modi at summit’s inauguration
Reflecting the progress of India's economic and strategic global partnerships, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGSS) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Wednesday (January 10, 2024).
 
In his address, Prime Minister Modi said that there are new possibilities for investors in every corner of India. “You are not only investing in India but also shaping a new generation of young creators and consumers. Your partnership with the aspirational young generation of India can bring results which you could not have even imagined”, Prime Minister Modi stated.
 
Under the forward-looking theme 'Gateway to the Future', this prestigious event is celebrating its 20th anniversary, epitomizing a legacy of catalysing business collaborations and forging strategic alliances for sustainable and inclusive growth.
 
Prime Minister Modi, in his address, exhorted the populace to harbour grand ambitions, aligning their aspirations with the nation's developmental ethos. "Your dreams are synonymous with my resolve," he affirmed, highlighting the abundant opportunities at hand for realizing these aspirations. His 25-minute address resonated profoundly with the audience, mirroring the nation's progressive ethos and aspirational spirit.
 
The event was distinguished by the presence of international dignitaries such as the President of the United Arab Emirates & Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who delivered a keynote address as the Chief Guest. His participation strengthened the burgeoning ties between India and UAE, especially in key sectors like renewable energy, healthcare, and infrastructure.
 
Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi, and Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta, were among a host of dignitaries from around the world who attended the summit.

In his inaugural speech, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's transformative journey, noting its ascension to the world's 5th largest economy. He projected with conviction India's emergence as one of the top three global economies in the foreseeable future, a projection supported by various international rating agencies. He credited the nation's economic resilience and momentum to a decade of structural reforms, enhancing India's economic capacity, capability, and competitiveness.

In concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the burgeoning investment opportunities across India, positioning the VGSS as a critical gateway to these prospects. "You are not just investing in India but are also shaping a new generation of innovators and consumers," he articulated, inviting global stakeholders to partake in India's growth narrative.
 
Spanning January 10 to 12, 2024, the summit has garnered global attention, drawing participation from 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations. Significantly, the Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region is leveraging this international platform to spotlight investment opportunities in India's North-Eastern regions, demonstrating the summit's commitment to inclusive economic development.
 
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) highlighted the summit's pivotal role in attracting investments and driving the developmental trajectory of Gujarat and India at large. A tweet from the PMO succinctly captured the essence of VGSS, stating its critical role in the state's and nation's economic progression.
